Tier 1


All skilled workers for Tier1 (General) Skilled Migration.

Tier 1 applicants must score 95 points on the points test.

 

As of April 2009 all Tier 1 Applicants must have at least a Masters Degree or above and earned the UK equivalence of £20,000 from the twelve months they are making an application.

 

Skilled workers already in the UK may extend their stay under Tier 1

Applicants currently on Student or Graduate Visas may extend their stay under Tier 1

Applicants currently on HSMP visa may extend their stay under Tier 1

 

Tier1 holders may remain in the UK as an employee or on a self employed basis. There is no sponsorship requirement by an employee or family member.

 

Tier 1 Visas are granted for three years and are extenable for a further two years After five years the applicant is eligible for indefinite leave to remain

 

 Tier 1 focuses on highly skilled migrants who seek either work opportunities or self employment in the UK.
