Tier4 PBS Management and Maintenance Provisions

  The UK Border Agency have launched a new management process for Tier 4 Points Based System on the 5th October 2009,
and extending Maintence concession for Tier 4 students already in the UK.

All students who have applied after 5th October 2009 will have permission to stay in the UK tied to their Tier4 sponsor.

The mainenance concession
--------------------------

The UKBA will extend a maintence concession to students cureently in the UK. Under Tier 4 rules a student must have sufficent available funds in their bank account to cover mainentance and tuition fees for a minimum period of 28 days, no more than one month before their application date. The concession on students allow them to demonstrate they have the funds on the date they appy.

If the student currently in the are making a Tier 4 student application prior to February 2010 you will need to show the monies available of the day of your application.

The concession will cease to apply to Students applying from outside the UK from 1st October 2009.

Permission to stay
-------------------

As of 5th October 2009 Tier 4 students permission to stay in the UK will be tied to their sponsor namely education provider. To bring in line with the four tiers.
The result of this means the student will have Tier 4 sponsors reference number entered in their passport.
Students wishing to study with a new education provoder and they made their application on or before 5th October 2009 will need to apply under the Tier 4 Student Visa.

Students cannot study until after the resolution of the their Tier 4 application

Students whom want to change schools and made their last application prior to 5th October 2009 must seek permision from the UKBA to change providers without applying for a new visa
