Skills shortage list review

Job occupations which fall within skills shortage list are recognised by the UK Government, that there are insufficient people within the resident labour market
that fills this skills set.
This means it is easier for Employers to obtain Teir 2 visa if the job vacanacy is on the skills shortage list.

On 21 October 2009, The UK Government have accepted fully the published proposals from the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) for a revised shortage occupation list which will apply to all certificates of sponsorships on or after 14th December 2009. Applications prior to 14th December 2009 will be considered againat the skills occupation list that is in place at the time of application

The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) advises the government on migration issues. It is a non-statutory, non-time-limited, non-departmental public body, sponsored by the UK Border Agency of the Home Office.
