Intra Company Transfers Review

 

  It has been stated that Intra Company Transfers abuse in some quarters have devastated markets such as Information Technology allows cheap foreign labour to take UK jobs

Border and Immigration Minister Phil Woolas said:
"Intra-company transfers are an important part of making the UK an attractive place in which to do business, and therefore keep industry and the economy moving."

"Workers that come in via this route must display the appropriate level of earnings and qualifications, and the numbers are strictly controlled by the points-based system - meaning only those the UK needs can come here."


Intra company transfer policy will change to reflect such concerns by the Spring of 2010. In the futue the migrant worker will have to show that they have worked for the parent company for twelve months instead of six months before bieng eligible to transfered to the UK.

In addition it will not be possible to apply for indefinite leave to remain on the basis of being in the UK on the intra company transfer.
